Acupuncture

We offer four bespoke acupuncture services. You can learn more about acupuncture through our faq page

  • Acupuncture has been used to treat various medical conditions for thousands of years. It is based on the concept of Qi, our body's vital energy, which flows through multiple pathways or “meridians'' throughout the body. Acupuncture uses thin hair-like needles to stimulate different points on these meridians to manipulate that energy and correct the flow of Qi and rebalance the body.

We use pattern differentiation to treat each health challenge holistically, addressing not only the symptoms but also the root of the dysfunction as well. Please see our FAQ’s for a comprehensive (but not exhaustive) list of what acupuncture can treat.

  • This modern application of an ancient acupuncture therapy has become recognized as a desired alternative or addition to well-established beauty enhancing services like Botox, fillers, and surgery. Also known as “facial rejuvenation acupuncture,” this service is a natural approach to combat the signs of aging. We use fine needles gently inserted into specific points on the face and body to boost collagen, lift and tighten facial muscles, target dermatological conditions, improve skin tone and reduce wrinkles. Acupuncture points are combined with gua sha, cupping and LED light therapy to both enhance your appearance externally and balance the body internally.

  • Microneedling has long been considered an effective anti-aging technique which combats the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne or surgical scars, loss of facial elasticity, hyperpigmentation, and hair loss. This offering combines a full body acupuncture treatment with microneedling to combat signs of aging both intrinsically and extrinsically. Each treatment includes acupuncture, microneedling for either the face and neck (for facial aesthetics) or the scalp (for promotion of new hair growth), a growth factor facial serum made from Chinese herbs, and LED light therapy.

Functional Medicine

(02.)

Functional Medicine seeks to treat the source of the imbalance that leads to the manifestation of the disease in the body. Its focus is to shift the focus on that path towards creating and cultivating optimal wellness.

  • Functional Medicine is a systems biology approach to healthcare that is individualized, patient-centered, and science-based with the goal of addressing the root cause of disease for each patient. It is a paradigm shift that recognizes the interconnected relationships of our biological systems and treats diagnosis as a waypoint in the process of understanding disease, rather than the end of the treatment process. Functional Medicine seeks to treat the source of the imbalance that leads to the manifestation of the disease in the body. Its focus is on what we can co-create as a patient and practitioner team to move away from the trajectory of failing health, and instead shift the focus on that path towards creating and cultivating optimal wellness. This approach requires a detailed understanding of each individual’s genetic, biochemical and lifestyle factors uncovered through comprehensive assessments and lab testing and uses that data to inform personalized treatment strategies.

  • Our process begins with understanding your biological blueprint based on your in-depth health history, symptoms, concerns, goals, and expectations, which are covered in our first meeting. The appropriate tests will be ordered using the latest lab testing and other diagnostic techniques, and once the results are received the next step is a review of relevant findings, consulting on optimization techniques, and working together to determine the best path forward with your individualized treatment plan. From here, we will continue to track progress and modify the treatment based on improvements we see while working together.

  • We believe in a team-based approach where patient and practitioner work together, and the patient is educated on how to help themselves. A core philosophy of this practice is that throughout the healing process, the responsibility of health should shift from practitioner to patient. The power of wellness should not reside in the person writing a prescription or giving a treatment, but instead live in the informed decisions that a person makes every day. We seek to identify the underlying cause of disease, distill that information so it becomes digestible for patients to understand, and help patients further incorporate that knowledge into their everyday lives.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

(03.)

Herbal remedies are a major component of Traditional Chinese Medicine and work similarly to Acupuncture by targeting both the root and branch (cause and symptoms) of each health concern.

  • Herbal remedies are a major component of Traditional Chinese Medicine and work similarly to Acupuncture by targeting both the root and branch (cause and symptoms) of each health concern. Herbs are effective at addressing various complaints, including both mental-emotional and physical ailments. Typically, single herbs are touted for their beneficial uses, like ginger for nausea, or elderberry for immunity boosting - but herbs are much more powerful when combined. We have extensive training in blending them for maximum efficacy and targeting formulas to individualized treatment.

  • After an initial 45-minute intake, a formula is customized to treat the specific concerns and constitutional imbalances of each individual patient. We draw from formulas used effectively for thousands of years and modify them based on your unique presentation. Follow up appointments are recommended to check in on response to treatment and adjust the formula as needed.

  • We view herbal therapy as an important and powerful component for patients on their healing journey. Herbal medicine can be used alone or alongside Acupuncture, but a combination of the two can help treatment effects last longer and shorten healing time. We offer only the highest quality, sustainably sourced, and health-screened herbs for our patients. Additionally, we always take a detailed look at your health history and current medication list to avoid drug-herb interactions. With patients on multiple pharmaceutical drugs, our approach is to go “low and slow” with herbal prescription dosages to ensure positive results.
