THE FOUNDER

Meet Emma

Emma McCune is a nationally board-certified Acupuncturist, a trained Chinese Medical Herbalist and a Functional Medicine practitioner. Emma completed her Master of Acupuncture with a dual specialization in Chinese Herbal Medicine and Japanese Acupuncture (MACHM) at the New England School of Acupuncture at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She completed all required coursework for her Functional Medicine Practitioner Certification (IFMCP) at The Institute for Functional Medicine. She earned double majors in Psychology and Religion, with a concentration in Eastern theology, at Colgate University. These courses leveraged Emma’s passion for understanding people and helping them. Post grad, Emma worked in software sales until she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which prompted a journey of healing and a calling to use the disciplines that helped her to improve the health of others.

In seeking treatment for Hashimoto’s, Emma experienced the feeling of being unseen and unheard within the conventional medicine model, seeking full recovery within a health care system that did not have time or perspective to deeply and thoughtfully address a broad and individual approach to healing. Acupuncture and functional medicine gave her the tools and education to put herself back in touch with her body and on the path to recovery. Through this, she discovered a deep sense of fulfillment in learning healing disciplines that combine the best of Western and Eastern medicine to empower others to actively manage their own health. The Wei is the fruition of this journey: a place of healing, transformation, connection, education, and community for people who are committed to taking control of their health and experiencing what it feels like to thrive.

Emma loves working with any of the specific challenges that arise around physical and mental health, with a focus on enabling and empowering patients to take agency over their own healing journey so they can truly feel like the arbiters of their own health destiny.
